2BReal Alert: One To Watch For 2018

Jeanette Young is one believer who has found the balance between her faith with her work.

The fashion designer/stylist and businesswoman is on a mission to raise awareness on there being nothing wrong with being stylish and saved. In 2016 Jeanette started JY London, which in February 2017 saw the launch of her first her fashion line. About the launch she said:

“The launch of my online womenswear boutique and seeing my dream become a reality was a major highlight for me. I had desired to have my own fashion label for many years but put off doing so because I lacked confidence and was scared of failure. I took the step of faith to start my company in 2016, culminating with the launch of my own designs last year. It was my long-held dream to launch my business and be able to transform lives through fashion, designing and styling.”

With a BA from the London College of Fashion, Jeanette has worked for some of the UK’s leading retailers including Karen Millen, Top Shop and River Island alongside recognised as a stylist to the likes of Muyiwa and Rachel Kerr. One of the important values she carries as a stylist is

“How people express themselves through their style and clothing is important.  We communicate what we are about as individuals in various ways and the top two ways are through the style and image we project and our body language.”

Whilst Jeanette’s passion for her fashion has seen her business and consultancy bloom it is her fire for her faith keen to share her gift of speaking God’s word and prophesying to the wider world. She believes that

“God is concerned about every aspect of us as people – not just the inside, but the outside too.  Both are important.  I’ve found that an individual’s personal style and mode of dress can generate opportunities, inspire confidence and communicate to others that they mean business.  That’s why it’s necessary to pay attention to our style.”
